Good Morning Readers:
It is a bit of a chilly this morning in the midwest. note I did not say it was cold.. after all we passed the Sping Equinox, therefore in my mind unless there is fluffy white stuff on the ground it is not cold but simply chilly. My daughter and I had quite a debate about this very thing over our morning coffee. At any rate the Pink Moon continues to travel through the Waning Crescent phase encouraging us to make plans for warmer weather, Today at 6:40 am the moon entered Taurus giving us a sense of stability and lending power to long term projects. Light and love dear readers and until tomorrow Blessed Be.
Pink Moon:
The early Native Americans did not record time by using the months of the Julian or Gregorian calendar. Many tribes kept track of time by observing the seasons and lunar months, although there was much variability. For some tribes, the year contained 4 seasons and started at a certain season, such as spring or fall. Others counted 5 seasons to a year. Some tribes defined a year as 12 Moons while others assigned it 13. Certain tribes that used the lunar calendar added an extra Moon every few years, to keep it in sync with the seasons.
Each tribe that did name the full Moons (and/or lunar months) had its own naming preferences. Some would use 12 names for the year while others might use 5, 6, or 7; also, certain names might change the next year. A full Moon name used by one tribe might differ from one used by another tribe for the same time period, or be the same name but represent a different time period. The name itself was often a description relating to a particular activity/event that usually occurred during that time in their location.
Colonial Americans adopted some of the Native American full Moon names and applied them to their own calendar system (primarily Julian, and later, Gregorian).
Waxing Crescent:
When the moon is waxing, the sunlit part we can see is growing. During a waxing crescent, we can see only a small section on the right that is shaped like a crescent.  You can remember which is waxing and which is waning becausewaxing rhymes with relaxing, and the first letter of relaxing is R, which starts the word right, the lit up side.Three and a half days after to seventh day. The Moon appears to be partly but less than one-half illuminated by direct sunlight. The fraction of the Moon’s disk that is illuminated is increasing.
Positive activities:
Gathering information; Making plans; Laying a Foundation; Emotions; Start of change. This is a time of regeneration. Anything you do to strengthen your body, to fortify yourself, is much more effective that when the moon is waxing. The body absorbs more easily…both good and bad.
Goals:
Gathering resources / information needed for your goals. Relates to the gathering of food by the seeds, so initial plans and actions, starting small, are now happening.
Moon in Taurus:
With the Moon in the sign of Taurus, you are likely to have an innate need for security and comfort. Taurus is an Earth sign, and so pertains to the tangible, material aspects of life. You are likely to find that you relate easily to the physical plane, and find much comfort in what you can see, hear, smell, touch and taste. Taurus is also a Fixed sign, implying constancy, patience, and perseverance. This suggests that you will by drawn to circumstances which are predictable, concrete and well-established. Preferring to know the ground upon which you stand, you are likely to seek the comfort of tangible outcomes, as well as the security of knowing what can or cannot be maintained.

giGood Morning Readers;
Happy St. Patricks day to one and all! Today we inch ever closer to the Spring Equinox on Ostara, leaving behind the 3 moons of winter. This is one of my favorite times of the year as I watch closely as the Mother awakes from her long slumber. Day by day, it seems as if life itself is languidly and slowly doing a cat-like stretch and yawn. Small green shoots begin to emerge and each day the trees have more buds if we're lucky we may even see the first tulips beginning to emerge waiting to open their brilliant displays. As we have been talking about the March moon has many names depending upon the culture and region of the area reflecting the important tasks of the tribe or clan, whether it be the Native American Crow or Worm Moon, commemorating the return of morning birds, or the Sap Moon, in honor of the bountiful and sweet treat provided by the Maple trees  of the Vermont areas, all of life is focused on the coming bounty. In this same spirit of expectant anticipation the moon phase is slowly finishing its cycle as we move into a Waning Crescent this is a time to let go, making ready for the goals and intentions of the New Moon on the 20th. The moon will enter void-of-course at 2:18pm today until Wednesday at 6:58 am when it will ease into Pisces. Love and Light readers and until tomorrow, Blessed Be!
Crow Moon or Worm Moon:
Some Native American tribes consider the March moon.People are born in this sign often convey themselves and their ideas easily because of and innate ability to be extremely flexible and adaptable.Native Americans attributed this to the tempestuous transition in which you were born. This gives you a unique alacrity, a moveable mind. This specialized mental condition allows you to communicate with other realms of life - you will be particularly drawn to fire animals and birds because these creatures are fast thinkers. Your lifes' skill is in the realm of helping  others through transition just as the March moon transitions our planet from Winter to Spring.
waning_crescent_featuredWaning Crescent:
Because the moon is nearly on a line with the Earth and sun again, the day hemisphere of the moon is facing mostly away from us once more. We see only a slender fraction of the moon’s day side: a crescent moon.
Each morning before dawn, because the moon is moving eastward in orbit around Earth, the moon appears closer to the sunrise glare. We see less and less of the moon’s day side, and thus the crescent in the east before dawn appears thinner each day.
The moon, as always, is rising in the east day after day. But most people won’t see this moon phase unless they get up early. When the sun comes up, and the sky grows brighter, the waning crescent moon fades. Now the moon is so near the Earth/sun line that the sun’s glare is drowning this slim moon from view.
Still, the waning crescent is up there, nearly all day long, moving ahead of the sun across the sky’s dome. It sets in the west several hours or less before sunset.
Void-of-Course:
VOC* (void of course) or v/c refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the Moon VOC*!

download (4)Good Morning Readers!
I hope your Monday is going well. I am a little bummed about the return of cooler weather this week, but living where I do I should be used to it. This week we will be counting down to the New Moon and the Spring Equinox on the 20th. Until then we remain in the last moon of Winter and as she phases through her fourth and final cycle we are urged to let go and prepare for a new month. The Moon will be void-of-course from 4:02 am to 6:14am when it enters Aquarius.

Lenten Moon
The last full moon of the winter season was also known as the Lenten Moon by settlers the origin possibly deriving from the season of lent.
4th quarter, Waning moon
the Waning Moon is the ideal time for banishing or releasing things. The New Moon is also known as the "Dark Moon" (also known as the “Black Moon.") This is the time of greatest power for banishing negativity and releasing yourself from all that binds you.
Void- of Course:
When the moon is void-of-course expect the unexpected. This is because the moon will be moving between two different signs. This can lasta few seconds, minutes or hours and it can sometimes last a day or two. When the energy is faulty and unexpected, refrain from making decisions because judgment could be faulty because you would be making a decision when all the factors are not known. Do not sign contracts, shop or promise anything during this time. Dont sweat the small stuff, when the moon is "void-of-course"  it is better to embrace the spontaneity. It can be plenty of fun if you work it right!
Moon in Aquarius:
The moon continuously moves through the twelve signs of the Zodiac, from Aries to Pisces, changing signs every 2-1/2 day, picking up various influences from each of the astrological signs. Good metaphysicians usually take this information into consideration when planning their rituals, as do earth workers (gardeners and farmers.)Aquarius is an Air sign, and so pertains to ideas, concepts and communication. It as relates to the social side of life in terms of the protocol that guides how we interact with each other. Aquarius is also a Fixed sign, which gives qualities of focus, perseverance and endurance.

Sunday, March 15th, 2015

Good Morning Readers;
Spring remains in the air in the Midwest, even though those of us born and raised here have a deep appreciation for the fickleness of the Gaia at this time of year. We remain for now in the third and final moon of Winter known by some Neopagans as the Death Moon.  The phase of the moon reflects the coming renewal as well, the 4th quarter moon, ande final phase of the moon symbolizing the need to release and make room for the coming New Moon which heralds  the Spring Equinox. The astrological of today's moon mirrors this spirit as we remain in the spirit of prioritization common with the Moon in Capricorn. Light and Love  anCapricorn is considered a passive earth sign, therefore  during this time we will foster a sense of well-being  when engaged in activities that give you a sense of self-respect.Light and Love: d Blessed Be
Death Moon:
While research this article this morning attempting to find a bit of new and relevant information for you, I came across a reference to the March moon as the Death Moon. Further research into the Death Moon of March left me with only vague and general references as to the meaning of this particular reference. The closest theory I found related to the Triple Goddess archetype. It is my  feeling  that March was referred as the Death Moon in honor of the death and renewal of the Crone mirroring the death and renewal of the planet in Spring.

“As Goddess of the Underworld she was concerned with Birth, Procreation and Death. As Goddess of the Earth she was concerned with the three season of Spring, Summer and Winter: she animated trees and plants and ruled all living creatures. As Goddess of the Sky she was the Moon, in her three phases of New Moon, Full Moon, and Waning Moon. […] As the New Moon or Spring she was a girl; as the Full Moon or Summer she was woman; as the Old Moon or Winter she was hag.”
The White Goddess, Robert Graves

4th Quarter Moon:
The Waning Moon is the ideal time for releasing things. The New Moon is also known as the "Dark Moon" (also known as the “Black Moon.") This is the time of greatest power for banishing negativity and releasing yourself from all that binds you. Before focusing on our intentions of the next cycle.
Moon in Capricorn.
The lunar phase is important in determining the optimal time to perform certain actions, for the most satisfactory result. This time-honored information has been utilized for centuries by not only farmers and gardeners, but Metaphysicians and Magicians as well. Particular signs are more beneficial for certain purposes, I have also found that for each task there is an opportune time. Noting the astrological phase of the moon has made me more aware and mindful to this. Capricorn is considered a passive earth sign, therefore  during this time we will foster a sense of well-being  when engaged in activities that give you a sense of self-respect.Capricorn is called the sign of the manager, which is a reflection of Capricorn’s desire and natural ability to, well,
The moon in Capricorn lends power to our natural sense of order. Capricorn is called the sign of the manager, which is a reflection of Capricorn’s desire and natural ability to manage; to get the job done and take care of what needs to be taken care of. Capricorn tends to assessing  our current reality and prioritizing tasks.Capricorn is a passive earth sign, therefore   we can receive a sense of well-being and self-respect through order.

Good Morning Readers;
This evening we enter the 2nd quarter of the Storm Moon at 12: 14pm. As the moon moves to it's full aspect our intention and spells grow as well. This a time for building, for growth and understanding. This evening the moon remains in Gemini. The moon in Gemini harnesses the power of duality. Gemini is a very energetic sign Vedic Astrology warns us  that if the Moon  is in Gemini, you may have trouble focusing on onely one task. On the other hand, today is a great day for multi-tasking. So for today dear readers loosen your grip a bit and embrace the spirit of chaos and energy of the moon in Gemini, just don't expect to too organized today... Light and love dear readers.
Storm Moon
Native Americans held the moon in a special reverance so your Native American moon sign is reflective. Because we are dealing with attributes of the moon, the personality types shared below will speak to your shadow selves.
However, most astrological zodiacs are based on sun signs (the position of the sun at your birth). Sun signs describe how you appear to the world (it fits with the metaphor of the visible sun radiating brightly for all to see upon the earth).
These moon signs are a metaphor - they express shadows, motion, change and soft illuminations of the personality - just like the moon. March is the Crow moon.If you were born in March, your Native American moon sign indicates you are an expansive communicator. Your skill to convey yourself and your ideas comes from your ability to be extremely flexible and adaptable. You were born in a time of tempestuous transition. This gives you a unique alacrity, a moveable mind. This specialized mental condition allows you to communicate with other realms of life - you will be particularly drawn to fire animals and birds because these creatures are fast-thinkers like you. You are the midwives and overseers of great change. Your life lesson is about helping yourself and others through transition.
2nd Quarter

First Quarter Moon

During the first quarter, half of the Moon is illuminated, as seen from the Earth. The Moon rises near the middle of the day and sets near the middle of the night. In northern regions of the world, the right part will bevisible, while the left part will be visible in the southern regions. Near the equator, the upper part is bright after moonrise, and the lower part is bright before moonset (the bright part appears and disappears first).
Every night the Moon rises in the East a little later and the thickness of the Waxing Crescent gets fatter, until the shape of the Moon is half a circle. This is the First Quarter, also called by some people the Waxing Half Moon. It is dark on the left and bright on the right. You can continue to do waxing, drawing, increasing, or growth spells.
                      The Waxing First Quarter Moon
                      rises about at noon
                      and sets about at midnight.
Gemini.
The four elements are:
  • Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius);
  • Earth (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo);
  • Air (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini)
  • Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces).
There are also natural love connections between Sun signs of harmonious elements. These are fire-air and earth-water.

Monday, February 23rd, 2015

Good Morning Readers;
This evening the Storm Moon of March is in the Waxing Phase. This months moon reminds of the coming Spring while the Waxing Phase of the Moon urges us to start  again. It is a time for beginnings, a time to let our magic sprout and grow just as the early spring flowers will soon do. For most of the day our moon remains in Taurus giving energy and strength to projects you wish to be resistant to change. Just make sure it is done by 9:57 pm when the moon will be void-of-course to insure success,
Storm Moon:
Celtic ~ Moon of Ice
English Medieval ~ Storm Moon
Neo Pagan ~ Snow Moon
This month  brings with her Moon a time to begin your Spring Cleaning.  It is a time to welcome change, as light once again begins to take hold of the world, and darkness recedes. We need to start making plans for the future, accept responsibility for past discretions; a time for purifying your thoughts and self- forgiveness.  It is a time of rebirth of self, and self- purification.
Waxing Moon:
The Moon today is in a Waxing Crescent Phase. A Waxing Crescent is the first Phase after the New Moon and is a great time to see the features of the moon's surface. During this phase the Moon can be seen in the wester sky after the sun dips below the horizon at sunset. The moon is close to the sun in the sky and mostly dark except for the right edge of the moon which becomes brighter as the days get closer to the next phase which is a First Quarter with a 50% illumination.
Taurus:
Taurus knows how to savor the good things in life, but also excels at taking care of business. They’re blessed with an emotional stability that gives them focus when all others are lost in confusion. They have a take-charge nature, but everything is done with a deliberate style so that each step is on solid ground.
Void-of-course:
The Moon has the fastest orbit, and as it cycles around the Earth, it makes aspects to other planets, and moves through all 12 Zodiac signs. It makes contact with all the wanderers (planets), in what are called aspects. These are the angles formed by the relationship, known as squares, oppositions, trines, sextiles and conjunctions.
When the Moon is Void-of-Course, often written as VOC or v/c on your calendar, it's left the last aspect it'll make before going into the next Zodiac sign. The echo of that last planetary transit can color the emotional atmosphere since the Moon is like our mood lighting.

       Good Morning Readers!
download (4)Today we enter the Storm Moons Waxing Phase, the time between the New Moon and Full Moon. It is time to build the strength of our intentions made during the New Moon. This Phase is about building, accomplishments, creativity, strength, growth and learning especially in regards of  positive transformations. The Moon is in it's maiden phase of it's monthly voyage with the sign of Aries guiding it. Aries as we recall from yesterday, is an energetic sign, great for new beginnings , it is an assertive sign, beware of becoming over charged however, for Aries is can also inspire aggression if we are not careful. Light and Love dear readers we'll see you tomorrow.

Storm Moon
Storm Moon is a raw, blustery time of year in which the snow can return with a vengeance. March is a month of beginnings  This month's moon is also known as: Seed Moon, Lenten Moon, Crow. .The Native American full moon names for March are largely based on these being considered the last full moons of winter; the crow caws its farewell to the season. Also known as the Worm Moon, because they start to surface at this time, also signaling retreat of winter and the marching in of springtime. Use this month for magical workings related to rebirth and regrowth.
Waxing Moon
The Waxing moon is the moon at any time after  the new moon and before the  full moon, so called because its illuminated area is increasing.
It takes approximately fourteen days for this to happen. In many magical traditions, people use this time of the moon to perform "positive" magic -- in other words, magic that draws things to you, or increases things. Some examples would include:
  • A money spell
  • A working to get a new job or home
  • Bringing love into one's life
  • Any magic related to increasing material items
People attempting to adjust their normal rhythms to those of the planets will want to look for a feeling of anticipation, a time of the month to feel your resolve grow and expand. Focus your attention upon the changes you want to see in yourself this month.
Aries ;
This is a fiery position of the moon. Even if the Sun or rising sign is more low-key, Moon in Aries people possess an  inner passion. Emotional issues take precedence--there is simply no pussy-footing around when it comes to dealing with the feelings. And, dealing with new sentiments and needs stirs up a huge desire for activity. Moon in Aries has a need for acting out their needs, with no time to waste. It is hard for them to see the long-term or to wait for things to happen. Instant gratification rules! Aries can also be  an impulsive sign so if your intentions include a project or budgeting .. be careful with the credit cards.Aries impulsive attitude and high energy can translate into overspending.

Good Morning Readers!
Hopefully you all slept well under the light of the New Moon. The Storm Moon today  reminds us that Spring is on the way with it's spring storms to nurture the spring plantings. This New Moon is also a Super Moon being quite close to the Earth in it's orbit even if we were unable to see it so close to the Sun's orbit. The New Moon urges us to make plans and set intentions for the coming month. Today the moon will be void-of-course from 6:02pm to 7:11 pm when the moon enters Aries. The Moon in
Aries makes this a great time to start projects, things will seem to move quickly. Beware of Aries argumentative nature thought in order to make them run smoothly

Storm Moon:
The Storm Moon of late February is so named for the Spring storms. As the old saying goes March comes in like a lion and leaves like the lamb.
New Moon:
New Moon workings can be done from the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half days after. The new moon is for starting new ventures, new beginnings. Also love and romance, health or job hunting.
Super Moon
Last night we experienced a rare event, a Dark Super Moon during this time, the moon is at the closest to the Earth than at any other time making it appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than other full moons.
Scientists call this phenomenon a “perigee moon.” The moon is usually about 238,000 miles from our planet, but because of the elliptical shape of the moon’s orbit, the distance varies throughout the year. At perigee, the moon is about 12,000 miles closer to the Earth.
You won’t be able to see Wednesday’s unique supermoon due to the sun’s glaring rays concealing it during day hours. But with minimal light pollution from the moon, it’ll be a prime time to dig out those astronomical binoculars and go searching for faint objects in the galaxy.
As Universe Today puts it, a black moon is the simply a new moon version of a blue moon — which is an extra full more in a season having nothing to do with color — and is either:
  1. A month missing a Full or New Moon… this can only occur in February, as the lunar synodic period from like phase to phase is 29.5 days long. This last occurred in 2014 and will next occur in 2018.
  2. The second New Moon in a month with two. This can happen in any calendar month except February.
  3. And now for the most convoluted definition: the third New Moon in an astronomical season with four.
The black moon  intensifies  ocean waters to create surging tides, known as a perigean spring tide. In some countries, like the United States, the phenomenon is known as the King Tide. As a result, a coastal flood alert is in effect until late Thursday.
The black supermoon won’t be back until Oct. 30th, 2016, however, a spectacular blue moon is expected on July 31 this year.
Moon in Aries
Great time for starting projects. Things may occur rapidly, but quickly pass. People may also become more assertive or even argumentative during this time.

Good Morning Readers:
Our moon is void-of-course until 6:47pm today when it officially enters the New Moon phase and enters Pisces. For those of you seeking to align your life with the natural cycles of the moon, this evening will be a perfect time to renew intentions and goals for the coming month. This month's  Storm Moon will bring with it the warmth of spring and the life-giving summer storms that nourish the earth. It is a time of beginning, a time of action. The Pisces moon reminds us to dream, and trust our intuition as we move forward to the next season. It is a great time for spiritual activities.
Storm Moon
March rolls in like the proverbial lion, and if we're really lucky, it might go out like a lamb. It's the time of the Storm Moon, the month when Spring finally arrives.Heavy rains and gray skies abound as the earth is  showered with the life-giving water it needs to have a fertile and healthy growing season. This is also a time of equal parts light and darkness, and so a time of balance.
New Moon:
A storm is said to rage most fiercely just before it ends, and the year usually follows suit.
The Moon following the Wolf Moon is the Storm Moon. Whether you meet with a coven on the night of the Full Moon, salute Her in a solitary ritual, or simply blow Her a kiss, bear in mind the magic of this night and the nature of the storms of February. Unlike the boisterous storms of the light half of the year, which are accompanied by the clashing of thunder and the flinging of lightning bolts, the storms of February come in silence. They blanket the world in coldness in keeping with the nature of the dark half of the Wheel of the Year. But beneath the blanket of cold and silent snow, Nature rests, as we do when in the realm of the Spirit that is called death; and like those in the world of Spirit, Nature prepares for life anew.New  Moon workings can be done from the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half days after. The new moon is for starting new ventures, new beginnings. Also love and romance, health or job hunting.
Pisces:  Pisces Moon will often have strong psychic abilities. They find it easy to walk a mile in someone else's shoes and are amazingly compassionate and full of love. Unfortunately, this capacity also makes it easy for them to lose themselves in others' problems.During the Pisces Moon, you  will often have strong psychic abilities. Finding  it easy to walk a mile in someone else's shoes and are amazingly compassionate and full of love. Unfortunately, this capacity also makes it easy for them to lose themselves in others' problems. During the Pisces Moon, you can become overwhelmed with reality or  become despondent by those around you if you are not careful, so be careful the next few days of your company.

Good Morning Readers!
The Quickening Moon in its Waning Phase reminds us to release and let go to make ready for the coming Spring and the New Moon on the 18th. Today, the moon remains in Capricorn making it a great time to set boundaries in order to establish sound strong structure in our lives. Coincidentally, today is also a planting day a day to plant the seeds of self- love deep within our heart and soul. Just as every plant needs to sink its roots deep into the soil, we must also give our lives structure and a rich  environment in which to grow and flourish. Today focus on releasing negative thoughts and people from your life and fertilize your soul with love with special attention to personal boundaries. Untill tomorrow light and love dear readers.
Quickening Moon:
February's  moon is known as the Quickening Moon because it is when new life is beginning, but it still lies dormant. It is called the quickening moon because the pregnant animals, who are due in the spring, can begin to feel their unborn quickening. Additionally, the earth is starting to show life again. This is also the month to plan new beginnings.
Waning Moon:
Between the full moon and the dark moon is the period of Waning moon. Used for banishing and rejecting those things that influence us in a negative way. Negative emotions, diseases, ailments, and bad habits can all be let go and special spells for clearing can be performed at this time.
Capricorn Moon:
Your happiness and sense of well-being increases when you do things that give you a sense of self-respect. Feeling capable is at the core of your happiness, which is sometimes why when the moon is in Capricorn we  can be focused so much on achievement and ambition. Sometimes Capricorn is called the sign of the manager, which is a reflection of Capricorn’s desire and natural ability to, well, manage; to get the job done and take care of what needs to be taken care of. Capricorn tends to be pretty good at assessing reality and seeing what needs to be done to get from A to B. Managers need to be able to see the bigger picture and plan for the future, not just for today. Capricorn knows the true meaning of the word "conservative:" it’s not about politics, but rather means not expending more than is needed because there is a long way to go.
Planting Day:.
Plant flowering bulbs and vegetables that bear crops below ground during the dark, or waning, of the Moon: from the day after it is full to the day before it is new again.Farmers swear that this practice results in larger, tastier harvest.

Friday,February 13th, 2015

Good Friday Readers:
Today the Quickening Moon of February remains in it's Waning Cycle. with the influence of Sagittarius. Our Quickening Moon reminds us that Spring is one the way, no matter what we may see outside. The Waning Phase of the Moon reminds us to let go and release making room for a new cycle with the coming New Moon. Sagittarrius is an active sign favoring growth and expansion. Today you may feel a little more cheerful and energized so weather permitting try to get outside, or if stuck inside behind the snow and ice as myself, do something today to embrace phase of the Waning Moon and get started on some indoor cleaning projects. Today would be a great day to go through the closets and donate items to your local thrift store. Today is also a Harvest day so if you would like to harvest you indoor herb garden today is the day. Light and love dear readers and I'll see you tomorrow.

Quickening Moon:
.The Romans for whom the name originates considered February the shortest and last month of the year. February originates from the word Februum which means purification. It may also originate from the name of the Goddess Juno Februa a goddess of love, passion, fertility and marriage as well as from the God Februss a god of the dead and of purification. Februalia was a month long festival based on purification, cleansing, and clearing away of the old. It was times to atone for any wrongdoings, to pray, mediate and make offerings to the Gods. During Februalia grain and salt were scattered about the house and pine boughs were used to sweep the floors clean. You may wish to continue this tradition with a thorough house cleaning, clean not only the physical but the astral, use an herbal based flour wash with sea salt to cleanse. Open the shutters and blinds and let the growing sunlight and air circulate. Leave a lemon cut in half in every room of the house with the intent that it may remove/absorb any negativity .When the lemon begins to dry, brown or rot, it has served its purpose and you may dispose of it. Now, is a good time to go through your clothes, pantry and other area and donate what is not wanted or necessary to charity. Also, it is a good time to go through the pantry and medicine cabinet and through your herbs, oils and natural remedies and dispose or recycle any that are too old and to make a list of ingredients you need to pick up.
Waning Moon:
The waning moon is the period time between the three days of the full moon and the three days of the dark moon, the counter balance to the waxing phase. The waning phase is the time for pruning and harvesting growth in our garden, be it physical or spiritual. This phase is the time for banishing those unwanted "things" in our lives, be it the nuisance boy-friend/lover or some bad habit we've developed. The crone shows us the way to the land of the dead during this time of the month. By taking her hand and accepting that some things must die, we are able to grow spiritually.
Sagittarrius:
When the Moon resides in Sagittarius sign, we all subconsciously become Sagittarius. Optimism, vitality, generosity, good intention, striving for protection intensify, as well as desire for philosophy, expansion of horizon or just a desire for a walk somewhere. These days are favorable for studying, work, teaching, and also expansion of the area of interest, for all, that is connected with distant travel and foreign countries. All activities, connected with sport, outdoor recreation, traveling, excursion, reading are perspective.

Good Morning Readers,
Today, we remain in the Waning Cycle of the Quickening Moon. The Moon was void-of-course from 12:32 am until 11:46 am when we enter  the sign of Sagittarius.
The Waning Cycle lends power to the act of release while the Quickening Moon hints to the coming of Spring. Today's Moon in Sagittarius urges toward athletic activities. Sagittarius influence is one of cheerful energy so don't be surprised if you  find yourself  craving an invigorating walk outdoors, weather permitting, of course. Today is also a prime harvest day so it may be a great day to commune with nature in the form of harvesting your indoor herb garden.

Quickening Moon:
The Quickening Moon is also known as the Snow Moon or the Bone Moon to the Cherokee.  It is considered the last moon of winter. The "Quickening" can be felt in the pregnant animals whose babies are due in springtime.  It is a time when the Earth reminds us that she is still alive underneath all of that snow.If we are lucky we may even find evidence of it as the first shoots of grass may be seen.

Waning Moon:
The Waning Moon  is the  moon  any time after full moon and before he the new moon (so called because its illuminated area is decreasing).Because the moon is nearly on a line with the Earth and sun again, the day hemisphere of the moon is facing mostly away from us once more. We see only a slender fraction of the moon’s day side: a crescent moon.
Each morning before dawn, because the moon is moving eastward in orbit around Earth, the moon appears closer to the sunrise glare. We see less and less of the moon’s day side, and thus the crescent in the east before dawn appears thinner each day.The moon, as always, is rising in the east day after day. But most people won’t see this moon phase unless they get up early. When the sun comes up, and the sky grows brighter, the waning crescent moon fades. Now the moon is so near the Earth/sun line that the sun’s glare is drowning this slim moon from view.Still, the waning crescent is up there, nearly all day long, moving ahead of the sun across the sky’s dome. It sets in the west several hours or less before sunset.

Sagittarius:
Sagittarius Moon is happy-go-lucky and free-spirited… as long as they aren't cooped up. They need space and personal freedom to be happy. They love to be physically active. Travel, sports, socializing… it doesn't matter what it is as long as it is active. When the moon is in Sagittarius you may crave  open spaces and athletic endeavors.

Good Morning Readers,
Today, we continue in the Waning Cycle of the Quickening Moon, with the moon entering Virgo at 2:05 am. The Waning Moon urges us to let go of negative things such as feelings, or habits and the Quickening Moon reminds that Spring is coming, even if you find yourself  buried under ice this morning. Virgo favors accomplishment of details especially those concerning our health or hygiene. Daily schedules are blessed by Virgo so today is a good time to start a new goal concerning your health. Today also is a planting day so if you didn't get your seeds started on Imbolic, like myself, today is the day! Light and love dear readers and I'll see you tomorrow.

Quickening Moon:
The full moon in February is known as the Quickening moon, it marks the official end of winter, and the quickening, the renewal of all things. While the skies are still gray, and the weather is cold, beneath the surface life begins to secretly stir. This moon phase is a time of abundance, ripening and completeness, heavy with fertility and female divinity. It is a time when the potential of all things begins to stir towards birth in spring, a time to work on our own inner power and confront personal truths in preparation for birth. This moon sheds enough light to help us see into our darkness so that our energy can make its way to the surface to prepare for growth and healing. This is the season of Imbolc, the days when we know that if we can just hold on for a few more weeks, we might get lucky and see little green shoots peeking out through the snow and slush.

Waning Moon:
The waning moon is the period during which the moon goes from full to dark once again. Like the waxing moon phase, it lasts approximately two weeks. In many traditions of Wicca and Paganism, this time of the month is used to do "baneful" magic -- that which sends away, gets rid of or destroys things you no longer wish to be burdened by. Some examples would include:
Magic to eliminate negative or toxic people from your life
Workings to smoothly end a relationship or job
Rituals that banish bad habits
Any magic related to reducing things, such as debt, illness, etc.
Virgo:
The lunar nature, when it's expressed through Virgo, seeks purification, well-being, and order. But this goes beyond exercising to include things like solitary walks to clear the mind, and time spent writing in a journal. Ideally, they’ll refine their day so that the mind, body and spirit end up feeling refreshed.

Planting Days:
Gardening by the phases of the moon is a technique that can speed the germination of your seeds by working with the forces of nature.
Plants respond to the same gravitational pull of tides that affect the oceans, which alternately stimulates root and leaf growth. Seeds sprout more quickly, plants grow vigorously and at an optimum rate, harvests are larger and they don't go to seed as fast. This method has been practiced by many for hundreds of years and is a perfect compliment to organic gardening.

Good Monday Readers!
This morning we remain in the Waning Phase of the Quickening Moon. Today the moon is void-of-course as of 6:58 am. until Tuesday at 2:05 am when we will enter Scorpio.
The Quickening Moon urges us to make ready while the Waning Phase of the Moon asks us to release and let go. Even if you are like me this morning watching the snow come down outside my window... Spring is coming ... in its own time. We are called to make ready for the changing of the seasons. We may want to start some spring cleaning, make an appointment to get the car serviced or tune up the lawn mower. If your gardener, like myself, you may be pouring over seed catalogs and planning the garden. In fact, tomorrow is a planting day so you may want to get out those seeds and get to work. Today we are void- of- course so it may not be the best time to actually start these projects but we can certainly start thinking about it.
Quickening Moon:
February's moon is also  called the Snow Moon because usually the heaviest snows fall in February.
Hunting was  very difficult at this time  so some Native American tribes called this the Hunger Moon.
Other Native American tribes called this Moon the "Shoulder to Shoulder Around the Fire Moon" (Wishram Native Americans), the "No Snow in the Trails Moon" (Zuni Native Americans), and the "Bone Moon" (Cherokee Native Americans). The Bone Moon meant that there was so little food that people gnawed on bones and ate bone marrow soup. Even though, February may find us knee deep in the snow of winter it is still a time to get ready as Winter holds onto it's last few moments.
Waning Moon:
This is when the moon appears to be "decreasing" in size; what this really means is that illumination of the moon is decreasing until it is entirely shadowed. One way in which to differentiate the Waning Moon as opposed to the Waxing Moon is to cup your left hand till it makes a shape like: ( This is the shape of the Waning Moon. If the moon fits in this curve, you know it is getting smaller every day, going to the New Moon / Dark Moon.
Void-of-Course:
The Moon makes a complete circle through the twelve signs every 28.5 days and spends approximately 2.5 days in each sign. There is a time, however, when this connection is interrupted and we "float" between signs. This is the time we call the void-of-course Moon. It starts after the Moon has made its last major aspect  to the Sun or planets and is still within the sign until it enters the next sign. The commonly held belief  is that action is unproductive during this time. Llewellyn’s astrological calendar says that people are "fuzzy – or vague – scattered even" and that "action initiated during this time is often wasted, irrelevant, or incorrect." This may or may not be the case for you, however, most believe it is wise to avoid starting a project during this time.

Good Morning Readers:

Good Morning Readers:

Today we continue in the Waning Cycle of the Quickening Moon. The Quickening Moon reminds us to make ready for the coming spring. The Waning cycle of the moon gives power to us in the act of release, a time to banish old habits and move one.

Today the moon is void-of-course until 1:44 pm when it enters Libra. Libra’s social nature favors social activities, friendship, and cooperation.  So for today dear readers take full advantage of the moon cycle today, sleep in till noon, have a long brunch and then go out and have some fun!

Quickening Moon:

The Quickening Moon moon is also known as the Snow Moon, Ice Moon, Hunger Moon, and Cleansing Moon.  Native American tribes of the north and the east called it the snow moon as it use to be the time that the greatest amount of snowfall came. The name Hunger moon refers to the difficulty to gather food this time of year. The Celts called it the Moon of Ice. This moon represents the coming of spring.  It’s the time when the seeds start stirring to life under the cold ground.  The farmers start planning crops for their gardens. The animals will start to feel their young in their belly’s as they are readying for their spring births.  The long sleepy winter is finally ending and the earth is in it’s early awakening to the longer days in the warmth of the sun.
Waning Moon:
The Waning moon is a traditionally a time for study, meditations and magical work designed to banish harmful energies. This is the time in our moon cycle to release and let go, making ready for the coming New Moon and a renewal of goals and ideals. The Waning Moon reminds us to let go, and release so that we may have room for new blessings.
Void-of- Course: (v/c)
As the moon moves from sign to sign there is a time in whic the last aspect and the entrance of the Moon into the next sign itt is said to be void-of-course. Projects began in this time will lack the governing influence of a sign and may turn out differently then planned. I personally see Void-of-Course as a resting time between one signs influence to the other. For those of you who need balance in your lives, like me, this will be a perfect reminder to take it easy.
Moon in Libra:
Libra is a sign of cooperation. It is a social sign favoring friendship and companionship. It is the sign that urges us to cooperation, and compromise, favoring harmony. Libra urges us to find to balance between the inner self and the outer self. Libra in the sign which urges us to interact with others. Many people when focused on their goals, neglect the relationships in our lives. Libra calls us to find a balance between the inner and the outer.
