Good Morning Readers:
The April moon is known by many names indicative of the season. Spring is upon us and with it the hopes and dreams of abundance. Today the moon remains in the Waxing Crescent phase at 14% of full. As the moon builds its  fullness we also see our intentions build coming to their height on the full moon. Today, though we are void of course from 10:25 am to tomorrow at 9:23 when the moon enters Gemini. Light and lover dear readers and until tomorrow, Blessed Be.
Egg Moon
The full moon of April. Also known as the pink moon. Both names indicate the sprouting of seed and the explosion of bright beauty found in the phlox (pink) and other flowers rising for the spring debut.
Waxing Crescent
The word crescent refers to the phases where the moon is less than half illuminated. The word gibbous refers to phases where the moon is more than half illuminated. Waxingessentially means “growing” or expanding in illumination, and waning means “shrinking” or decreasing in illumination.
Void of Course
A planet is said to be void of course when it is not aspecting any other planet. The term void of course is usually applied to the moon and refers to the period of time when the moon is no longer aspecting any planets in the last sign it was in but has not aspected any planets in the sign it will go into next. This void of course period may last only a few minutes or it may last several hours to a day. During this time the moon is still technically in the previous sign, but its effect is muted.
According to the definition of Void of Course which has been used since Medieval times, the void of course period begins as soon as the moon completes its final aspect with any planet in the sign it is passing through and ends the moment the moon aspects a new planet.

Good Morning Readers:
The time of the Pink Moon is upon us, the official start of Spring, with the Waxing Crescent mirroring the expectant excitement and energy  of these days. In addition, the moons zodiac gives power to new beginnings. while in Aries, finish up any planning by 6:51 pm when we will be void-of-course. Tomorrow at 6:40 am the moon will enter Taurus giving a stable power to our intentions. Light and Love Dear Readers & Blessed Be
Pink Moon:
April’s Moon, the Pink Moon embodies  the appearance of the moss pink or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.
Waxing Crescent:
A waxing crescent moon – sometimes called a young moon – is always seen in the west after sunset.
At this moon phase, the Earth, moon and sun are located nearly on a line in space. If they were more precisely on a line, as they are at new moon, we wouldn’t see the moon. The moon would travel across the sky during the day, lost in the sun’s glare.
Moon in Aries:moon-in-zodiacal-sign-aries
a New Moon in Aries heralding in a powerful new start. This is also the start of a new year in Astrology, the zodiac always begins with Aries.
This New Moon is truly a new birth of life, inspiration and ideas. It is energetically connected to the womb of evolution, like a butterfly coming out of its chrysalis. The earth is changing now all around us as it wakes for the Spring, we are also waking up to what we need to do to grow and move on in our lives.
The energy of transformation is being seeded within each of us. Aries is the warrior so find your inner spiritual warrior who will guard your back and help keep you focused on your destiny. And don’t be afraid to step in and defend people, places or anyone who can’t help themselves. Find the kind of warrior energy you carry and bring it to the surface.
Void-of-Course:
The Moon makes no aspects while in transition of changing signs. The occult energies are “open” to any conditions. A Void Of Course Moon is often active during restored scenes, residual playbacks or time warps.

giGood Morning Readers;
Happy St. Patricks day to one and all! Today we inch ever closer to the Spring Equinox on Ostara, leaving behind the 3 moons of winter. This is one of my favorite times of the year as I watch closely as the Mother awakes from her long slumber. Day by day, it seems as if life itself is languidly and slowly doing a cat-like stretch and yawn. Small green shoots begin to emerge and each day the trees have more buds if we're lucky we may even see the first tulips beginning to emerge waiting to open their brilliant displays. As we have been talking about the March moon has many names depending upon the culture and region of the area reflecting the important tasks of the tribe or clan, whether it be the Native American Crow or Worm Moon, commemorating the return of morning birds, or the Sap Moon, in honor of the bountiful and sweet treat provided by the Maple trees  of the Vermont areas, all of life is focused on the coming bounty. In this same spirit of expectant anticipation the moon phase is slowly finishing its cycle as we move into a Waning Crescent this is a time to let go, making ready for the goals and intentions of the New Moon on the 20th. The moon will enter void-of-course at 2:18pm today until Wednesday at 6:58 am when it will ease into Pisces. Love and Light readers and until tomorrow, Blessed Be!
Crow Moon or Worm Moon:
Some Native American tribes consider the March moon.People are born in this sign often convey themselves and their ideas easily because of and innate ability to be extremely flexible and adaptable.Native Americans attributed this to the tempestuous transition in which you were born. This gives you a unique alacrity, a moveable mind. This specialized mental condition allows you to communicate with other realms of life - you will be particularly drawn to fire animals and birds because these creatures are fast thinkers. Your lifes' skill is in the realm of helping  others through transition just as the March moon transitions our planet from Winter to Spring.
waning_crescent_featuredWaning Crescent:
Because the moon is nearly on a line with the Earth and sun again, the day hemisphere of the moon is facing mostly away from us once more. We see only a slender fraction of the moon’s day side: a crescent moon.
Each morning before dawn, because the moon is moving eastward in orbit around Earth, the moon appears closer to the sunrise glare. We see less and less of the moon’s day side, and thus the crescent in the east before dawn appears thinner each day.
The moon, as always, is rising in the east day after day. But most people won’t see this moon phase unless they get up early. When the sun comes up, and the sky grows brighter, the waning crescent moon fades. Now the moon is so near the Earth/sun line that the sun’s glare is drowning this slim moon from view.
Still, the waning crescent is up there, nearly all day long, moving ahead of the sun across the sky’s dome. It sets in the west several hours or less before sunset.
Void-of-Course:
VOC* (void of course) or v/c refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the Moon VOC*!

Gooddownload (6) Morning Readers:
I need to apologize and correct  yesterday's post this morning, as well as sending a big thank you to Jeff Jones for bringing this to my attention. The Full Moon of March is not a Super Moon, in fact it is the opposite of it.This evenings moon, is in fact, the smallest moon of 2015, not a Super Moon as I had reported.I This moon is considered a Mico or Mini- Moon. This evening the full moon and the lunar apogee ( the moon’s farthest point in its monthly orbit ) both fall on the same date.Tonight's moon will be about 30,000 miles farther from us than the years closest Full moon on September 28th. .Abenaki called the March Full Moon  the Mozokas, or Moose Hunter Moon while the Anishnaabe, or Ojibwe/Chippewa, as Bebookwaadaagame-giizis(oog), or snow crust moon, The Moon will reach its fullest point at 1:05pm.  Additionally the  moon is void of course from 1:36 pm to 7:52 pm on Friday when it will enters Libra, a sign favoring cooperation and compromise. Light and love readers, and until tomorrow, Blessed Be
Micro Moon:
the full moon of this particular March is the farthest our satellite ever manages to pull away from Earth.“At 2:33 a.m. EST, the moon stands 252,516 miles (406,384 kilometers) from Earth’s center, as reported by ”Astronomy.com "This makes tonight’s full moon the smallest of 2015.”“It appears low in the east as darkness falls and climbs highest in the south shortly after midnight,” Astronomy.com says. This is  the third full moon of 2015, the last one of this long, cold winter, hopefully. Earthsky. org reports that it is  unusual for only two full moons to  fall during this season. Our full moon today will look full, it will not actually reach that point until midday on the fifth.

Full Moon
The link between the Lunar Cycle and the oceanic tides and the animal kingdom is well known.Contrary to popular belief tidal motion doesn't actually respond to the gravitational pull of the Moon but follows a pattern of resonance instead. This resonant pattern has been set in motion by the gravitational effect of the orbiting moon on the rotating earth over a long period of time.Marine biologist on the Australian Barrier Reef note that coral mates at the full moon.Herbivores ovulate around the Full Moon. The world's leading expert on deer states that the height of the deer rutting season occurs around two full moons. One of the two will be the Leo Full Moon. In(late July - late August)Migratory Birds appear to follow the patterns of the moon for timing and finding their path of migration. Zoologists in Alaska noticed that animals: bears, caribou, salmon moved at the Full Moon.Experts on animal behavior reported game birds tend to return to certain locations at the time of the Hunter's Moon.Studies into healing revealed that the full moon amplifies the electrical charge in living cells. A sensitive voltmeter, he had attached to a tree picked up a faint electrical force. However, at the time of the full moon, this force soared upward on the scale.
Void- of- Course:
The void of course moon is nothing to worry about, it brings no ill purpose. Void of course simply means there could be delays in your tasks. Do not be surprised if during these times you may experience more delays during this time. It is advised that during a void of course time to refrain from making important decisions in your personal and professional life. Some activities such as meditation. It is a good time to just sit back and relax.  Good Morning Readers;
For many of you this cold and snowy morning, it may be hard to believe that Spring is just around the corner, but this months' Moon is all about the coming change of seasons. Whether it is the  bebookwaadaagame-(oog)  or Snow Crust Moon of the Ashanabe  tribes or the Siqon or Little Spring Moon of the Pasamaquaddy tribe this month brings the hope of  Spring to the people of North America.  Today farmers and fisherman carry on this tradition; seeds are bought, gardens are planned  and  tools made ready.Modern pagans and Wiccans also honor the March moon as a time to prepare with  traditions and rituals to honor Ostara, the Spring equinox on the 20th. This evening our moon is in the Waxing Gibbous phase and 98% full with the moon reaching its full glory on Thursday at 1:05 pm. The moon remains in Leo today until 3:48pm when it will be Void-of-Course until Wednesday at 6:58am when  Virgo lends its energy to matters of health, so once this last storm blows through you may just want to take advantage of the warmer weather coming our way the weekend  to take  stroll through the neighborhood. Love and light dear readers and until tomorrow blessed be.
Little Spring Moon
Native American tribes used a calendar based upon the full moon cycle rather than months as we do today. Each moon's name was based on the climate  their environment.
Waxing Gibbous Phase
Building, growth, and learning, are  themes in this phase of the moon. It is meant to be a time for us to grow as well building our magic as the moon progresses toward the glory and power of the Full Moon.
Void of course:
The moon sets the emotional tone as it transits through the Zodiac signs. It changes signs every 2 1/2 days. You can work with this rhythm to "go with the flow" of the MoonThe period of time between when the Moon makes a final aspect in one sign and  enters a new sign is defined as a void-of-course.It is a time of rest and contemplation. . Projects and magic work done at this time will have unexpected results or may even produce the opposite of your intention, better to wait for the guiding force of the next sign to produce the results expected.  The moon will enter Virgo at 6:58 am.
Moon in Virgo'
Virgo as an earth sign is geared toward productivity It favors clearing, refining, purging, detoxing and organizing. It favors launching self-improvement schemes. Your steps may be more purposeful, and this helps you with tasks that require patience and focus on details. You can get into a zen-like groove of action, so mundane tasks like cleaning don't seem so laborious. You want to be working and seeing signs of tangible effort.

Today is the last day of February, which means we are one month closer to Spring, in theory.March will come in like a lion for many of us here and hopefully leave like a lamb. But for today, the Maple Sugar Moon has crossed over to a Waxing Gibbous in its journey through the night time sky. The moon is in Cancer today until 12:53 pm. so if there is any domestic issues requiring  great communication skills , this morning is the best time to get on it... like talking your teenage son into finding the floor in his room... for example. After that is done, sit back and relax as the moon will be void-of-course until Sunday at 6:34pm when we enter Leo. Then just go right on taking it easy for Leo will draw you into the self .Until tomorrow readers I wish you love  and light. Blessed Be
Maple Sugar Moon:
Legend has it that North America is the back of a turtle and it’s eye is here in New England. If you take a close look at the shell of a turtle you can count out thirteen different plates on its carapace. And every year has thirteen moon cycles that complete the year.
According to Anishinabe legend, this month’s full moon, the 3rd moon, is called the Maple Sugar Moon, the only time of the year sap flows from the maple trees. In the hilltowns of Western Mass it’s the month steam pours out of our area sugar shacks and fresh maple sap is boiled down to make maple syrup. Many sugar shacks invite families to their annual pancake breakfasts during these weeks to enjoy fresh maple syrup and share in the process of making syrup.
Waxing Gibbous Moon:
The Gibbous Moon falls between the quarter and full moon phases. More than half of the moon is visible. As each day the gibbous phase continues, more of the moon is seen in the sky as it nears the full moon phase. This is a time of perceived acceleration as people, animals, things and energy can magnify in their intensity.
Moon in Cancer:
The name derives from Latin, meaning literally, the crab.  The ruler of the fourth sign of the zodiac is the Moon, the Crab, its symbol.  The glyph has varied interpretations.  This is often seen as representing the breasts,Earthlore Cancer: San Marino Stampindicating the area of the body ruled by Cancer, as well as the fundamental nurturing nature of the sign.  This is also seen as two crab's claws, intertwined in a way which represents the dual nature of the Cancerian personality.  In this form, it would be understood as similar to the Asian Yin and Yang symbol.
The Cancerian character is the most perplexing of the signs.  Cancer can range from the timid, shy, dull and withdrawn to brilliant, friendly and famous.  Cancerians run the entire gamut of human emotion. Fundamentally conservative and home-loving by nature, they appreciate the security of a home-base in which to retire when the stresses of living become too much to bear.
Don't be downcast, soon the night will come,
When we can see the cool moon laughing in secret

And we rest, hand in hand.
Void of Course:
The moon is considered void-of-course as it migrates from one sign to the other. Most feel this is a time to sit back and relax as spells or intentions during this time may not turn out as planned. For those of you like me .. addicted to busyness the moon's voiid-of -course days remind me to sit back and smell the roses. It is a natural time to explore the softer quieter part of lives such as meditation or reading. ws, intertwined in a way which represents the dual nature of the Cancerian personality.  In this form, it would be understood as similar to the Asian Yin and Yang symbol.

Thursday, February 26th, 2015

Good Morning Readers:
This evening we remain in the 1st quarter of the waxing moon. Allowing us  to continue the growth of our intentions for the month as we continue to the Full Moon on the 5th of March.  The moon will also enter a void-of-course at 3:43 am. until Friday at 7:50 am when the moon enters Cancer.

Storm Moon
Like most of our moons, the one in March is called a number of names,  depending upon the tradition. You could call it the Sap Moon, the Crust Moon, the Crow Moon, even the Maple Sugar Moon or the Worm Moon.According to lore, the full moon was named for the time of year when robins start to reemerge from where they spent the cold season, tugging at worms in the thawing ground.Though it’s true worms would be more accessible to birds when spring hits, robins actually never leave most places, unlike many birds that do migrate elsewhere for  the winter. The American Robin spends the whole winter in their breeding range,” according to Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology. But because they spend more time roosting in trees and less time in your yard, you’re much less likely to see them.”Much like the robin The Sap Moon and Maple Sugar Moon is so named for the sap for the sap oozing from maple trees  long  considered a sign that spring is about to arrive.
Of course, the truest mark of spring doesn’t happen until, March 20 at the vernal equinox
Though there’s always a chance for a late season snow storms  (like the ones that could hit parts of the Midwest and Northeast Sunday into Monday), spring is literally right around the corner.
1st Quarter moon:
The First Quarter Moon appears approximately a week after the New Moon.  We might call the First
Quarter Moon, as well as the Last Quarter Moon, “the half Moon,” because the Moon appears cut in half.  It
is not a quarter of a Moon at all in appearance.Every night the Moon rises in the East a little later and the thickness of the Waxing Crescent gets fatter until the shape of the Moon is half a circle. This is the First Quarter, also called by some people the Waxing Half Moon. It is dark on the left and bright on the right. The Waxing First Quarter Moon rises about at noon and sets about at midnight. After that, the Moon kind of starts to look like it is pregnant. It is perfectly round on the right side, but bulged out past half-way on the left. This is the Waxing Gibbous Moon. You can continue to do waxing, drawing, increasing, or growth spells.
Void-of-course:
Void-of-course motion is the Moon reaches near the end degrees of the zodiac sign that it has been traveling through. From the time, it makes its last aspect or energy connection with another planet is when the void-of-course motion begins. This period of time, today is when you may feel confused or not sure of what direction to go. This void-of-course period can create unexpected results. You may experience delays and frustrations. During this period of time, it is best to avoid making decisions. It will be much easier to just go with the flow of what is around you. If you can avoid shopping, signing contracts or making important decisions during this time, you will avoid difficulties later on. You will save yourself wasted time, money and effort by paying attention to the do's and don'ts of this period of time. Try looking at the list below and experiment for yourself. You will discover that this time period is best for subjective, non-materialistic avenues of involvement and you may feel much more at ease after having this time to ponder and reflect on important decisions that you may need to make.

Saturday, February 21, 2015

Good Morning Readers;
This evening we are under the Waxing Phase of the Storm Moon. The Storm Moon brings the Spring showers which will nourish our planet and our hearts after the long winter. The Waxing Phase is that time between the New Moon and the Full Moon. The Waxing Moon is a natural time to start projects you wish to bring to full force upon the coming Full Moon. Today the moon remains in Aries until 7:16pm when it will be Void-of-Course until Sunday evening at 7:28pm when it enters Taurus. Light and Love Dear Readers and have a great day.
Storm Moon:
Also known as the Magpie  Or Crow Moon. The Native American full moon names for March are largely based on these being considered the last full moons of winter; the crow caws its farewell to the season. Also known as the Worm Moon because they start to surface at this time, also signaling retreat of winter and the marching in of springtime. No matter what we coin the March Moon, here in the Northern hemisphere it is a time to bear the last of the Winter snows and welcome the coming of Spring.
Waxing Moon:
After the new moon, the sunlit portion is increasing, but less than half, so it is waxing crescent. After the first quarter, the sunlit portion is still increasing, but now it is more than half, so it is waxing gibbous. After the full moon (maximum illumination), the light continually decreases. So the waning gibbous phase occurs next. Following the third quarter is the waning crescent, which wanes until the light is completely gone -- a new moon. For Pagans and Wiccans alike the phase of the moon is important, lending power to the magic. The Waxing Moon signifies a time to begin, with the magic growing as does the face of the moon.
Aries:
Aries is a Fire sign, governing impulses, initiative, and action. Accordingly, you are likely to feel at your best when you involved with exciting, challenging or new experiences – anything that lets you express your pioneering side. You may experience yourself as a dynamic individual, and enjoy getting things started – lifting them off the ground. Your need for independence suggests you may be happiest when left to do your own thing, and will detest being told what to do.
Void-of-Course:
"Every couple of days there comes a time which is best used for subjective, spiritual non-material concerns, like prayer, yoga, play, psychotherapy, or passive experience, sleep or meditation.
"This period may last a few seconds, or it may be three days and nights in a single session. "It begins when the Moon in transit makes the last major aspect it will make before it changes from one sign of the zodiac to the next. It ends when the Moon enters the next sign. The name of this period is Void of Course Moon. You may call it a silly season, or vacation from normal living." Al H. Morrison,

Good Morning Readers:
The Quickening Moon hints of a Spring to come.. even if we may not be lucky enough to feel it just yet the days are getting longer. The Waning Moon readies itself for a new New Moon on the 18th. Additionally, the moon will be void-of-course from 3:17pm to 7:13pm when it enters Aquarius. Aquarius' influence is a rebellious, energetic one so embrace your personal freedom today. Today is a great time to focus on breaking habits or making abrupt changes given the Waning Phase in Aquarius. Today is also a great day for planting those seedlings .Until tomorrow dear readers light and love.

Quickening Moon:
The Moons Energy is in purification, growth, healing, loving the self, accepting responsibility for past errors, forgiving yourself, and making future plans. This is a good time to focus your magick on home, hearth and family.Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, some native tribes often called February’s full moon the Snow Moon, The tribes that used Snow Moon for the January moon called this moon the Hunger Moon, as the food supply was often low and harsh winter conditions made hunting difficult this time of year.
Waning Moon:
A waning crescent moon is sometimes called an old moon. It’s seen in the east before dawn.
Now the moon has moved nearly entirely around in its orbit of Earth, as measured from one new moon to the next.
because the moon is nearly on a line with the Earth and sun again, the day hemisphere of the moon is facing mostly away from us once more. We see only a slender fraction of the moon’s day side: a crescent moon.
Each morning before dawn, because the moon is moving eastward in orbit around Earth, the moon appears closer to the sunrise glare. We see less and less of the moon’s day side, and thus the crescent in the east before dawn appears thinner each day.The moon, as always, is rising in the east day after day. But most people won’t see this moon phase unless they get up early. When the sun comes up, and the sky grows brighter, the waning crescent moon fades. Now the moon is so near the Earth/sun line that the sun’s glare is drowning this slim moon from view.Still, the waning crescent is up there, nearly all day long, moving ahead of the sun across the sky’s dome. It sets in the west several hours or less before sunset.
Aquarius:
Aquarius is the 11th Sign of the Zodiac (also known as the Water Bearer), which tends to be very sensitive and can easily get hurt by criticism. You may be surrounded by lots of people, but actually you have very few good friends. If you stay grounded, you can be good at communications. You enjoy the company of people who are on the same wavelength. You are frank and avoid frequent changes, but when people try to take advantage of your nature, you can get quite upset. And when someone hurts or cheats you, you can nurture feelings of revenge for a long time. You prefer your personal life to be peaceful. You rarely get emotionally attached to your relationships. People get attracted by your wit and intelligence. You tend to learn fast. You are inquisitive and take interest in everything around you, which tends to divide your concentration.
Planting Days
Planting by the Moon is a great way to help plan your above and below ground crops.
  • Plant flowers and vegetables that bear crops above ground during the light, or waxing, of the Moon: from the day the Moon is new to the day it is full.
  • Plant flowering bulbs and vegetables that bear crops below ground during the dark, or waning, of the Moon: from the day after it is full to the day before it is new again.
Old-time farmers swear that this practice results in larger, tastier harvest.
Void-of-Course:
Every couple of days there comes a time which is best used for subjective, spiritual non-material concerns, like prayer, yoga, play, psychotherapy, or passive experience, sleep or meditation.
"This period may last a few seconds, or it may be three days and nights in a single session. "It begins when the Moon in transit makes the last major aspect it will make before it changes from one sign of the zodiac to the next. It ends when the Moon enters the next sign. The name of this period is Void of Course Moon. You may call it a silly season, or vacation from normal living.
"Decision making in such periods turns out later to be unrealistic. Creativity diverges into unpleasant directions, improvisations, false starts, error. Business moves fail to generate profits, or meet unexpected difficulties. If you buy any object it usually fails of its intended use. "Human judgment is more fallible than usual during the time the Moon is Void of Course. This is the principle factor in all observed experience thus far.
"Routine proceeds readily, but often requires an adjustment later. Defects or shortages come to light. Delay and frustration are commonly experienced while the Moon is Void of Course. "Neurotic tendencies, bad habits are more open to change. ESP experiments show odd results.

Good Morning Readers!
Happy Valentines Day! Today the Quickening Moon remains in the waning cycle, The moon will be void-of-course from 10:15 am to 5:24pm when we enter Capricorn just in time for your Valentines Day plans. The Quickening Moon reminds us that the days are getting longer, and hopefully warmer, as Spring is just around the corner. Our Waning Moon encourages us to let go as we draw near to the New Moon and new beginnings. The Moon in Capricorn will give its influence and strength to encourage structure and traditions. Now is a great time to set boundaries in your life or establish rules in relation to your responsibilities and obligations.

Quickening Moon:
The Quickening Moon or Snow Moon or Hunger Moon  are  traditional names for the full moon that occurs in February in North America. Usually this month is a time for snow and cold air temperatures, and this is the reason for the name snow moon. Storm moon, hunger moon, Little Famine moon, and Full Bony moon are other traditional names for this particular full moon.Hunting becomes very difficult, and so some Native American tribes called this the Hunger Moon.Other Native American tribes called this Moon the "Shoulder to Shoulder Around the Fire Moon" (Wishram Native Americans), the "No Snow in the Trails Moon" (Zuni Native Americans), and the "Bone Moon" (Cherokee Native Americans). The Bone Moon meant that there was so little food that people gnawed on bones and ate bone marrow soup.
Waning Moon:
The waning moon is the period time between the three days of the full moon and the three days of the dark moon, the counter balance to the waxing phase. The waning phase is the time for pruning and harvesting growth in our garden, be it physical or spiritual. This phase is the time for banishing those unwanted "things" in our lives, be it the nuisance boyfriend/lover or some bad habit we've developed. The crone shows us the way to the land of the dead during this time of the month. By taking her hand and accepting that some things must die, we are able to grow spiritually
Void-of-course:
Each sign  of the moon is similar to  a chapter in the book of  your life, and moving through it the Moon is telling a story. When the Moon enters the next sign, it starts a new story. We still remember the old one, but we are not deeply involved in it anymore. Whether we notice it or not, each time the Moon enters the next Sign of the Zodiac, something substantially changes in our life some context or the emotional background of events. Most of the time, we aren't aware of this change because the Moon is strongly connected to our subconsciousness, not to our consciousness. It is the subconsciousness who is deeply aware of the change.
So in each of the signs the Moon starts a new story when it enters the sign, but those stories can have different lengths. Some of them continue for almost the whole two-and-a-half-day period, others are much shorter, but always there is a pause at the end of the story. It can be short or long, but it is always there. That pause at the end of the story is the void-of-course period of the Moon.
Capricorn:
The Goat" - Third earth sign in the Zodiac
Ambition, reputation, and status are Capricorn's main concerns. Planets here take on a conservative hue and are expressed in a plan geared towards control and management.Wisdom and steadfast reality provide Capricorn with the ability to make steady progress over the long haul. This a no-nonsense kind of sign, earthy, practical, sensible, materialistic and often ambitious. Capricorn people are good problem solvers  and crisis handlers, inclined to find solutions to problems rather than cry over spilled milk. People born under this sign have a capacity to develop skill in whatever field they chose to undertake.

Good Monday Readers!
This morning we remain in the Waning Phase of the Quickening Moon. Today the moon is void-of-course as of 6:58 am. until Tuesday at 2:05 am when we will enter Scorpio.
The Quickening Moon urges us to make ready while the Waning Phase of the Moon asks us to release and let go. Even if you are like me this morning watching the snow come down outside my window... Spring is coming ... in its own time. We are called to make ready for the changing of the seasons. We may want to start some spring cleaning, make an appointment to get the car serviced or tune up the lawn mower. If your gardener, like myself, you may be pouring over seed catalogs and planning the garden. In fact, tomorrow is a planting day so you may want to get out those seeds and get to work. Today we are void- of- course so it may not be the best time to actually start these projects but we can certainly start thinking about it.
Quickening Moon:
February's moon is also  called the Snow Moon because usually the heaviest snows fall in February.
Hunting was  very difficult at this time  so some Native American tribes called this the Hunger Moon.
Other Native American tribes called this Moon the "Shoulder to Shoulder Around the Fire Moon" (Wishram Native Americans), the "No Snow in the Trails Moon" (Zuni Native Americans), and the "Bone Moon" (Cherokee Native Americans). The Bone Moon meant that there was so little food that people gnawed on bones and ate bone marrow soup. Even though, February may find us knee deep in the snow of winter it is still a time to get ready as Winter holds onto it's last few moments.
Waning Moon:
This is when the moon appears to be "decreasing" in size; what this really means is that illumination of the moon is decreasing until it is entirely shadowed. One way in which to differentiate the Waning Moon as opposed to the Waxing Moon is to cup your left hand till it makes a shape like: ( This is the shape of the Waning Moon. If the moon fits in this curve, you know it is getting smaller every day, going to the New Moon / Dark Moon.
Void-of-Course:
The Moon makes a complete circle through the twelve signs every 28.5 days and spends approximately 2.5 days in each sign. There is a time, however, when this connection is interrupted and we "float" between signs. This is the time we call the void-of-course Moon. It starts after the Moon has made its last major aspect  to the Sun or planets and is still within the sign until it enters the next sign. The commonly held belief  is that action is unproductive during this time. Llewellyn’s astrological calendar says that people are "fuzzy – or vague – scattered even" and that "action initiated during this time is often wasted, irrelevant, or incorrect." This may or may not be the case for you, however, most believe it is wise to avoid starting a project during this time.
